Quigo Adds Powerhouse Publisher Line-Up and New Sports Category to AdSonar Exchange

Quigo expands growing network by signing agreements with USATODAY.com, The New York Post, iExplore and World Publications to join content targeted advertising platform

New York, NY — October 25, 2004 — Quigo, a leading developer of online marketing technologies, announced today that it signed agreements with several large publishers to use AdSonar Exchange to place relevant text ads on their Web sites.

A targeted advertising platform, AdSonar Exchange matches advertisers and publishers with pinpoint precision using sophisticated technology in order to address the current search relevancy problem. Spanning the health, travel and newly added sports categories, the new publishers boost the AdSonar Exchange network to include millions of additional pages:

  • USATODAY.com, the award-winning news and information site owned by Gannett, is utilizing AdSonar to power ads in the health section of its Web site and will incorporate AdSonar ad listings into its highly regarded sports section later this month.
  • NYPOST.com, the sixth largest newspaper Web site in the nation, is using AdSonar to position ads in its health, travel and sports sections.
  • IEXPLORE, the leading online seller of adventure and experiential travel associated with National Geographic is also using AdSonar to bring relevant ads to the pages of the adventure and experiential travel site.
  • WORLD PUBLICATIONS, a leader in lifestyle and recreational publishing with over 15 titles and Web sites including Destination Weddings & Honeymoons and Caribbean Travel and Life, will ultimately use AdSonar on all its Web publications to promote highly targeted ads that complement the specialized content.

AdSonar Exchange also offers an education category.

Using Quigo's one-of-a-kind technology, AdSonar Exchange's advertising platform classifies Web sites by content topic as the first step to ensure the right ad will be placed on the most relevant Web page. AdSonar's proprietary relevancy algorithms then sort through the topics and Web site to refine and determine an ideal match so that the right ad will be shown in front of the right consumer on the right Web page.

"We believe Quigo's technology truly separates AdSonar Exchange from the other advertising platforms and it's why publishers like USATODAY.com and The New York Post are choosing AdSonar," stated Michael Yavonditte, CEO of Quigo. "Other systems group content and ads by categories, but that's where their "technology" ends; and therefore you'll find car insurance ads on health insurance Web sites. Sure, they both are in the insurance category, but AdSonar's relevancy checks would know that difference and stop the car insurance ad from running on a health related site."
